Death Certificate
The state-issued vital record confirming a decedent's death.
The death certificate isn't a curative document on its own — it doesn't convey property or name heirs — but it's a required attachment to almost every other curative tool. Without it, an AOH's "decedent died on…" statement is unsupported.
A death certificate filed in the deed records of a county is a strong signal that some kind of probate or AOH work is going to follow there. Following the thread is high-leverage curative.
